Moby-Dick; Or, The Whale is a classic American novel by Herman Melville, first published in 1851. The story follows Captain Ahab’s obsessive quest to hunt down Moby-Dick, a giant white whale, as narrated by Ishmael, a sailor on the whaling ship Pequod. The novel explores themes of revenge, obsession, humanity’s relationship with nature, and the limits of knowledge. It’s regarded as one of the greatest works of American literature.
